Richard Smith started Car Donation Services in 1990 and it has grown to serve over 200 charities here in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California.
CDS has sold millions of dollars worth of donated vehicles. We are large enough to make a difference, but small enough squeeze every penny out of every car. Over the years, CDS has developed a broad base of repeat and referred buyers and donors.
We are constantly striving to ensure the maximum return on each donated vehicle so the charity receives the largest amount possible. We achieve this by securing and constantly monitoring low cost and high quality service from the companies we do business with.
In addition we use a variety of methods to sell vehicles, including retail, wholesale, auction, via the Internet using craigslist and eBay, and yes, sometimes a dismantler for those low value cars the “other guys” turn down.
Over the years CDS has built an excellent reputation for providing fast, fair, friendly, honest and professional services to both vehicle donors and to the non-profit organizations we partner with.
CDS is licensed by the State Attorney General’s office; we are bonded and insured, and we comply with all tax reporting requirements, so not to jeopardize the charity’s tax exempt status, nor your tax deductibility.
